Messy Church – this Sunday afternoon – ALL WELCOME!
Our Junior Church were so happy to receive a Christmas card and “thank you” note from another child in Sillamäe, Estonia, who received one of our shoeboxes packed for Operation Christmas Child back in November!
It is with deepest sadness we have to announce the passing of St Thomas’s longest serving Elder, Dr Sidney Wilkins, at the age of 100.
Born in Llanelli and, as his father moved around a lot with work, Dr Wilkins, was educated in a number of different places including Sheffield, Leeds, Nottingham, Lancaster and Birmingham.
He was a medical officer during the war, serving mainly in Europe. He graduated with a degree in medicine from Birmingham University and later moved to Denbigh where he worked as a GP.
He was an Elder at our church, a keen Modern Sequence dancer and was also actively involved in many local charities including St John’s Ambulance, Kidney Research, Christian Aid and Multiple Sclerosis.
He cared for his wife, Joyce, who had MS and who was in a wheelchair for more than 20 years, until her death in 2001. He was a keen sportsman and enjoyed watching rugby – especially if Wales were winning!
A look back at our Nativity service on Sunday 23rd December 2018.
- Wow! Over 150 people came to our annual service of Lessons & Carols by Candlelight this evening.
A truly wonderful time where the story of Christmas was told along with singing our favourite carols – all by candlelight.
Thank you to everyone who continues to support us at St Thomas’s.
