St Thomas’s Church has officially launched its 2015 campaign for Samaritan’s Purse UK Operation Christmas Child UK. We will be packing shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child UK on the morning of Sunday 22nd November but we really need to start collecting items now. Here’s a guide on what is safe and permitted. Let’s make 2015 the best year yet and give the gift of joy to so many children across the world.

GIFT SUGGESTIONS

TOYS:
Include items that children will love such as dolls, toy trucks, stuffed animals, kazoos, harmonicas, yo-yos, skipping ropes, balls, toys that light up and make noise (with extra batteries), etc.
SCHOOL SUPPLIES:
Pens, pencils and sharpeners, crayons or markers, stamps and ink pad sets, writing pads or paper, solar calculators, colouring and picture books, sticker sheets etc.
HYGIENE ITEMS:
Toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, comb, flannel, etc.
OTHER:
Baseball caps, sunglasses, hair clips, toy jewellery, solar watches, wind-up torches, scarf & gloves, wrapped sweets (Best Before Date of at least March the following year).
A PERSONAL NOTE:
You may enclose a note to the child and a photo of yourself or your family.
DO NOT INCLUDE
Used or damaged items, war-related items such as toy guns, knives or military figures, chocolate or food, liquids or lotions, medicines, hand made or knitted stuffed toys, playing cards of the 4-suit variety, breakable items such as glass containers, aerosol cans, clothing or items of a political, racial or religious nature.
